The downturn in the photovoltaic market directly affects the training of photovoltaic talents

Since the domestic photovoltaic industry encountered the previous miserable situation in the future, the status quo of photovoltaic colleges and universities has never existed, and has not attracted people's attention. During the interviews with many photovoltaic colleges and universities in Jiangxi, we found that “lost” has become a key word for some students majoring in photovoltaics.
But before the photovoltaic winter at the end of 2011, for these students, choosing a photovoltaic major is undoubtedly the best way to glory and dream. Before enrolling in school, they heard the rumors that "the photovoltaic companies are not printing silicon wafers, but banknotes."
Zhu Fadong is a student of the Photovoltaic College of Nanchang University. When he applied for the exam in 2009, he chose the Photovoltaic College on the recommendation of a friend. This friend told him that the photovoltaic major is very good, how easy it is to get a salary of seven to eight thousand yuan after graduation.
Before applying for the exam, Hu Xiaotian, who is also in the class of 2009, checked a lot of relevant information from the Internet and analyzed the prospects of the photovoltaic industry. He said that the high income was one of the major reasons that prompted him to finally apply for the photovoltaic major. In 2005, the photovoltaic giant Wuxi Suntech settled its second solar cell production base in Hu Xiaotian's hometown-Luoyang, Henan.
Luoyang Suntech has been established less than three years, and its production capacity has been expanded from 30 MW by 120 MW. The expansion myth has brought wealth to employees. He said that when fashion morality's salary and benefits are higher than that of civil servants, it can be tens of thousands.
After enrolling, in 2009, seniors also continued to draw blueprints for them: "You can get a high salary after graduation, and companies are rushing for important people." "The code name of the photovoltaic industry is the money printing machine"... This convinced them , Even in the face of the material profession with the highest employment rate, the superiority of the photovoltaic profession is slightly better.
In a dormitory of the Photovoltaic College of Nanchang University, the students who will graduate this year said that before applying for the college entrance examination, they learned of the special status of the Photovoltaic College in the entire school. More importantly, they said, studying here means a high employment rate and high income after graduation.
It all comes from the rapid expansion of China's photovoltaic industry in an incredible way. In 2006, 赛维 was formally put into production, and deduced the myth that "owning silicon is king, achieving production and becoming gold". In this period, Jiangxi Province began to aggressively enter the photovoltaic industry.
In 2010, the 28 photovoltaic enterprises above designated size in Jiangxi Province that were included in the statistics achieved a total industrial added value of 12.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 74.94%; main business income was 41.623 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 97.38%; total profits were 5.399 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase 176.87%, the industrial scale ranks among the top in the country.
The continuous upsurge of the photovoltaic industry has made the supply of talents unable to match. Teachers from some institutions of higher learning in Jiangxi Province recalled that during the two years of 2006 and 2007, Jiangxi's industry specifically responded to the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and Government on the problem of lack of talents.
The most obvious example of the serious shortage of talents is that Peng Xiaofeng, chairman of LDK, who was once known as the "richest man in new energy", complained that the development of the photovoltaic industry was "pulled" by the development of photovoltaic talents when advocating the glory of the photovoltaic industry. Hind legs".
Based on these reasons, in 2008, Jiangxi Province issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Training of Talents in the Photovoltaic Industry" (Gan Jiao Zi [2008] No. 24, hereinafter referred to as "Opinions"). The "Opinions" bluntly stated, "With the rapid development of the photovoltaic industry, the photovoltaic industry is in short supply of talents, which will become the biggest bottleneck restricting the vigorous development of the photovoltaic industry in our province."
The "Opinions" require that all colleges and universities and secondary vocational schools in Jiangxi should speed up the cultivation of talents in the photovoltaic industry, and provide Jiangxi with "all-round, multi-disciplinary, multi-level talent and intellectual support" for the photovoltaic industry, and "strive to be the province in 2015. The photovoltaic industry provides 100,000 corresponding graduates."
In order to achieve the above goals, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education has also set up a special leading group for "Accelerating the Training of Talents in the Photovoltaic Industry", which is affiliated to the Higher Education Division of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, and the group leader is the main person in charge of the Provincial Department of Education.
After the "Opinions" was issued, the photovoltaic industry talent training programs of Nanchang University, Jiangxi Blue Sky College, Xinyu College and other colleges and universities have been in full swing.
Since 2008, Nanchang University has maintained an annual enrollment of about 60 photovoltaic students, and currently there are about 240 undergraduate students in photovoltaics. As of 2010, Nanchang University enrolled 187 photovoltaic undergraduates under the name of material physics, and in 2011 formally enrolled students under the name of the School of Photovoltaics. This year, the Ministry of Education newly added the major of "New Energy Materials and Devices" and approved 14 colleges and universities including Nanchang University and North China Electric Power University to open these majors.
Xinyu Technical College has also recruited photovoltaic students from 2008, and has opened four specialties including photovoltaic material processing and application technology, photovoltaic power generation technology and application, and solar thermal application technology, as well as two new energy materials and devices. There are about 1,050 students in an undergraduate major.
Xinyu College also held a "Savi Class". In 2008, the "Opinions" "order-style" training requirements, Xinyu College selected 400 and 1,000 students from the 2006 and 2008 junior college students to form a "saiwei class". In 2008, the "Savi Class" of Xinyu College accepted more than 300 students. "Saviban" was cancelled in 2009.
The so-called order-based training means that an enterprise and a university sign an agreement for running a school, and students directly enter the enterprise to work after graduation.
Take Xinyu College as an example. Many photovoltaic companies have cooperated with the college. There are 8 companies that have actually signed cooperative education agreements. These companies will determine the number of recruits based on their own production conditions every year. The college also arranges students to go to photovoltaic companies for internships every year, and the corresponding employment rate is relatively high. Most of them work in photovoltaic companies such as Saiwei, Jinko, JA, and Hanwha. But this year's internship arrangements are somewhat difficult. Some students can only transfer to other industries such as sapphire and electronics.
Order-based training is a double-edged sword. When the industry is good, the employment rate of order-trained college students is high, and the salary package is also good. During the probation period, they can get three or four thousand monthly wages. When the industry is bad, the employment rate plummets.
Regarding the plan of “strive to provide 100,000 graduates for the province’s photovoltaic industry in 2015” proposed by the “Opinions”, many college teachers interviewed by our reporter said that the direction of accelerating the training of photovoltaic talents is in the situation. However, the speed and quantity of the training of specific talents are still open for discussion.
